PURL generation

Personalized, customized web pages are amazing tools of the electronic-marketing trade. Some companies have reported more than 2000% increased response rates simply by providing a personalized URL (PURL) as a place for readers to learn more about the offer. Like variable-data printing, creating PURLs is generally achieved using a database of customer names and information to auto-create individualized web pages. Cyndie Shaffstall has developed and employed an automatic method for generating PURLs.

data2date

As a promotional campaign, Cyndie Shaffstall created data2date, an automatic calendar generator for QuarkXPress 6/7/8 and InDesign CS2/CS3/CS4. It is not an application, but rather a simple combination of solutions, including a FileMaker® Pro runtime database (the source for custom date text and predefined holiday sets), a collection of templates in a variety of calendar formats, a pre-written Xdata or InData prototype for each calendar, and libraries containing mini calendars and other miscellaneous fillers. QuarkXPress templates

In 1992, Cyndie Shaffstall wrote the book titled, QuarkXPress: Making the Most of Your Negative Experiences. That book was actually a series of templates and step-by-step instructions on how to create QuarkXPress documents that could be printed directly to negatives.
